About Someday or One Day
Someday or One Day (Xiang shi ni de na tian) is an acclaimed Taiwanese time-travel romance that aired on CTV from November 2019 to February 2020. After losing her boyfriend Wang Chuan-sheng in a plane accident, grieving young professional Huang Yu-hsuan clings to the memory of the man she loved. When a mysterious cassette tape and an old Walkman pull her consciousness back to 1998, she awakens in the body of Chen Yun-ru, a shy high-school girl, and comes face to face with Li Zi-wei, a teenage boy who looks exactly like her late boyfriend.
As Yu-hsuan navigates Yun-ru's life, she befriends Li Zi-wei and his loyal best friend Mo Jun-jie, who quietly harbors his own feelings for Yun-ru. What begins as a second chance at love deepens into a haunting mystery: how are these two timelines connected, who is really living inside whose body, and can the loop be broken before tragedy repeats itself. The series threads a delicate puzzle of identity, fate, and grief through the warm, cassette-tape nostalgia of late-1990s Taiwan.
Anchored by Alice Ko and Greg Hsu in dual roles and by Patrick Shih's tender turn as Mo Jun-jie, Someday or One Day became one of the most beloved Taiwanese dramas of its era, winning Golden Bell Awards and inspiring a 2022 feature film continuation. Its bittersweet blend of romance, suspense, and 1990s atmosphere, set to the wistful pop of the period, earned it a devoted international following.
