The Eastern Gate (Polish title Przesmyk) is a six-part Polish espionage thriller set along the country's tense eastern frontier. It follows a veteran intelligence officer who, worn down by the toll of the work and a recent personal loss, is preparing to step away from the service. Those plans unravel when a fellow operative she is close to disappears in the field, drawing her back into an undercover assignment she had hoped to leave behind. What begins as a single task soon widens into a careful, high-stakes game played out in border towns, safe houses, and quiet meetings where nothing is quite what it seems.
At its core the series is a study of tradecraft and trust.
