About The Marked Heart
The Marked Heart (Spanish title Palpito) is a Colombian Netflix thriller-melodrama that opens in grief. After his wife dies suddenly, a devoted husband named Simon Duque is left shattered, struggling to make sense of a loss he cannot accept. As he searches for answers, he comes to believe that her death was no accident but the result of a hidden black-market scheme that quietly benefited a wealthy and powerful man.
Simon's search draws him toward Camila, the elegant and increasingly disillusioned wife of that same businessman, Zacarias Cienfuegos. What begins as a calculated attempt to get close to the family slowly turns into something neither of them planned. A real and dangerous attraction grows between Simon and Camila, complicating his thirst for justice and forcing both characters to weigh love against loyalty, vengeance, and self-preservation.
Across two seasons, the series builds as a glossy, emotionally charged melodrama in which romance and revenge are tightly braided together. It treats its darker premise in suggestive, general terms rather than graphic detail, keeping the focus on guilt, longing, and moral reckoning. As alliances shift and secrets surface, the central question becomes whether two people bound by tragedy can choose each other without being destroyed by the wrongs that brought them together.
