About The Witch
The Witch (Korean title Manyeo) is a 2025 South Korean fantasy-tinged mystery romance that adapts the popular webtoon by Kang Full, the storyteller behind the wider Kang Full universe of dramas. It centers on Park Mi-jeong, a quiet young woman who has spent her life branded a 'witch' because tragedy seems to follow anyone who falls for her. As a child and again as an adult, the men who confess their feelings to her end up dead or badly injured, and the superstition hardens into a curse she half-believes herself. To protect everyone around her, she withdraws from the world, working as a translator and keeping people at arm's length.
Into that isolation walks Lee Dong-jin, a brilliant data-mining analyst who once had a high-school crush on Mi-jeong before the rumors swallowed her up. Ten years later their paths cross again, and Dong-jin refuses to accept that misfortune is a supernatural law written into her life. Armed with patterns, probability, and a stubborn tenderness, he sets out to prove that the accidents are coincidence rather than curse, even as the bodies and the warnings pile up around them. The drama frames their relationship as a wistful tug-of-war between science and superstition, with Mi-jeong torn between the safety of solitude and the dangerous wish to simply be loved and remembered.
Across ten episodes the series leans into melancholy romance and slow-burn mystery rather than easy answers, asking whether love is worth the risk when the people you care about keep getting hurt. Roh Jeong-eui plays Mi-jeong as guarded and aching, while Park Jin-young (Jinyoung of GOT7) brings warmth and quiet obsession to Dong-jin in a role filmed shortly before his military enlistment. Supporting players, including a dogged detective who keeps circling the unexplained deaths, deepen the sense that something larger and stranger may be at work beneath the small-town whispers.
