About Tower of God

Tower of God is the anime adaptation of SIU's wildly popular Korean webtoon, brought to the screen by Japanese studio Telecom Animation Film for its 2020 first season. The story follows Twenty-Fifth Bam, a boy who has spent his whole life alone beneath a mysterious structure known only as the Tower. When his sole friend, a girl named Rachel, enters the Tower in pursuit of her own dream, Bam tears open its sealed door to chase after her, setting in motion a climb that will define everyone he meets.

Inside, the Tower is a world unto itself, where countless climbers fight to ascend floor by floor in the belief that whoever reaches the top can have their deepest wish granted. Each floor is guarded by deadly tests designed by enigmatic Rankers and administered by entities called Test Admins, forcing newcomers into alliances and rivalries that blur the line between friend and foe. Bam, an 'Irregular' who entered without being chosen, quickly draws the attention of forces far larger than himself.

Across its first season and the 2024 follow-up, the series balances strategic, team-based combat with a steadily deepening mystery about the Tower's true nature and Bam's place within it. Themes of loyalty, ambition, and the cost of chasing a single person up an endless ladder give the action emotional weight, while a sprawling cast of climbers keeps the political maneuvering as compelling as the fights themselves.
