About Wonderful World
Wonderful World is a 2024 South Korean psychological revenge drama produced for MBC TV that follows Eun Soo-hyun, a celebrated psychology professor and bestselling author whose comfortable life is shattered when her young son is killed in a hit-and-run. When the legal system fails to deliver justice and the man responsible walks free, Soo-hyun takes matters into her own hands, commits a crime of her own, and goes to prison, trading her old life for the long, uncertain work of grief, guilt, and reckoning.
Released from prison years later, Soo-hyun re-enters a world that has moved on without her, only to find that the truth behind her son's death is far more tangled than she believed. She crosses paths with Kwon Seon-yul, a guarded young man carrying his own secrets and wounds, and the two are slowly drawn into a shared pursuit of the people who upended both their lives. As alliances shift and hidden connections surface, the series builds its tension less from action than from the moral weight of revenge and the cost it exacts on everyone who chases it.
Anchored by Kim Nam-joo's layered performance as a woman remaking herself in the aftermath of loss, and by Cha Eun-woo as the wary stranger who becomes her unlikely partner, Wonderful World threads a domestic tragedy through a wider story of corruption, complicity, and the limits of forgiveness. Kim Kang-woo rounds out the central trio as Soo-hyun's husband, a polished television anchor whose composed public face hides the fractures running through their marriage.
