About YOLO
YOLO (You Only Live Once) is a Ghanaian youth drama set in Accra that follows a circle of secondary-school and young-adult friends as they navigate first love, family expectations, peer pressure, and the everyday choices that shape who they become. Produced by Farmhouse Productions and directed by Ivan Quashigah, the series continues the storytelling lineage of the long-running Ghanaian classic Things We Do for Love, carrying some of its characters and tone into a new generation.
At the heart of the show is Cyril, a thoughtful student whose ambitions and relationships anchor many of the storylines, alongside Fafali, whose own coming-of-age journey runs parallel to his. Around them, friends and classmates wrestle with crushes, rivalries, study and money pressures, and the pull between doing what is easy and doing what is right. Veteran characters and teachers, including the familiar Mr. De-Graft, bridge the worlds of the young cast and the adults guiding them.
Made as an educational-entertainment series, YOLO weaves public-health and life-skills themes into its drama, encouraging frank conversations about adolescent reproductive health, decision-making, and responsibility without losing its warmth or humor. Its blend of relatable teen storytelling and a clear public-education mission has made it one of the most widely followed Ghanaian series of its era, building a devoted following across television and online audiences.
