About Zero

Zero follows Omar, a shy second-generation Black Italian teenager of Senegalese descent who lives in public housing in a multicultural neighborhood on the edge of Milan. Quiet to the point of feeling completely overlooked, Omar would rather sketch comics and deliver pizzas than be noticed. Then he discovers that his sense of being unseen has become literal: when strong emotion takes hold, he can turn invisible.

As real estate developers and criminal interests scheme to hollow out his neighborhood and push out the families who built it, Omar is pulled into a fight he never wanted. Befriended by the local crew led by Sharif and drawn to Anna, an architecture student whose father sits on the wrong side of the gentrification plan, Omar slowly learns to use his power not to disappear but to protect the people and the place he loves.

Warm, music-driven, and rooted in the lived reality of a community rarely centered on Italian television, Zero is both a superhero origin story and a coming-of-age tale about visibility, belonging, and finding the courage to finally be seen. It stands as one of Italy's first Black-led series.
