Character Arc
Koharu Hondomachi begins the series as an eager, almost disarmingly cheerful rookie investigator newly attached to the Kura team. Her unconventional thinking and fearless curiosity quickly set her apart, and a defining early incident, in which she survives a horrifying encounter with a serial killer, marks her with both a literal scar and a singular determination to understand the minds of murderers.
Because of that brush with death, Hondomachi turns out to possess the rare aptitude needed to become a diver herself, and she steps into the id wells as a detective in her own right. Her perspective inside the dream worlds is sharper and more grounded than many expect, and she becomes a crucial partner to Narihisago, often grasping clues and connections that others miss.
Over the course of the season Hondomachi evolves from a peripheral newcomer into one of the most pivotal figures in the entire investigation. Her growth, resilience, and willingness to sacrifice for the truth make her a fan favorite, and her actions are central to how the conspiracy at the heart of ID:INVADED is ultimately confronted and resolved.
