Character Arc
Moon Jang-yeol is a sharp, ambitious detective who is reassigned from Seoul to the sleepy town of Mujin, a move he regards as a frustrating demotion. Strait-laced, proud, and initially dismissive of anything that cannot be proven by conventional police work, he is skeptical to the point of irritation when he first hears about Bong Ye-bun's supposed memory-reading ability.
His arc traces a gradual thaw from rigid lone-wolf investigator to genuine partner. As Ye-bun's visions keep delivering results he cannot ignore, Jang-yeol is forced to set aside his pride and collaborate, and the friction between his by-the-book instincts and her unorthodox gift drives much of the show's comedy. Beneath the buttoned-up exterior, he proves to be diligent, principled, and increasingly protective of the town and of Ye-bun.
By the later episodes, as the comic local cases escalate into a serious serial killer investigation, Jang-yeol's competence and resolve come to the fore. His evolving relationship with Ye-bun shifts from reluctant alliance toward deeper trust and affection, grounding the lighter material in a more heartfelt partnership.
