Character Arc
Pegasus Seiya is the protagonist of Saint Seiya, a hot-blooded and stubborn young orphan who is sent away to Greece to train and returns having earned the Pegasus Bronze Cloth. Driven at first by the hope of reuniting with his lost sister, Seiya gradually finds a larger purpose as he learns that the girl he is sworn to protect, Saori Kido, is the reincarnation of the goddess Athena.
Throughout the series, Seiya embodies the shonen ideal of growth through perseverance, repeatedly rising after seemingly hopeless defeats by burning his Cosmo to new heights. His signature Pegasus Meteor Fist and unbreakable resolve make him the emotional anchor of the Bronze Saints, and his loyalty to his comrades — especially Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun, and Ikki — defines much of the team's dynamic.
As the saga escalates from the Galaxian Wars through the Sanctuary, Poseidon, and Hades arcs, Seiya is positioned as the Saint most closely bound to Athena's fate, often taking on the most punishing battles. His arc is one of a brash street kid maturing into a self-sacrificing champion whose faith in his goddess and friends repeatedly turns the tide.
