Character Arc
Sabrina Spellman is the half witch and half mortal heart of the series, a sharp and stubborn teenager whose loyalty to her friends constantly collides with the expectations of her coven. As her sixteenth birthday nears she is pressured to undergo a dark baptism and sign the Book of the Beast, but she refuses to surrender her free will. Her insistence on living in both worlds at once defines her arc and sets her against the Dark Lord and the witches who want to control her.
Over the seasons Sabrina grows from a defiant student into a powerful witch who repeatedly bends and breaks the rules to protect the people she loves. She enrolls at the Academy of Unseen Arts, clashes with High Priest Father Blackwood, and discovers shocking truths about her own parentage and the Dark Lord's plans for her. Her power grows alongside the danger, forcing her to make morally fraught choices that have consequences for everyone around her.
By the final season Sabrina faces threats large enough to endanger all of reality, including the cosmic Eldritch Terrors, and she even contends with a duplicate version of herself. Her willingness to sacrifice for others drives the emotional climax of the show, culminating in a bittersweet ending that underscores the cost of her choices. Throughout, she remains a symbol of self-determination, refusing to let anyone, mortal or demon, decide her fate for her.
