About Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a Netflix supernatural horror-drama developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and based on the Archie Comics series of the same name. It reimagines the familiar story of Sabrina the teenage half-witch as a darker, occult-tinged coming-of-age tale set in the eerie town of Greendale. Sabrina Spellman is half witch and half mortal, and as her sixteenth birthday approaches she must choose between the human world she loves and the witch heritage that runs through her blood.
Raised by her aunts Zelda and Hilda Spellman and her cousin Ambrose in the family mortuary, Sabrina is pressured to sign her name in the Book of the Beast and pledge herself to the Dark Lord at her dark baptism. Torn between her mortal boyfriend Harvey Kinkle and her friends at Baxter High and the secret coven world of the Academy of Unseen Arts, she repeatedly resists giving up her free will. Her defiance puts her at odds with powerful forces, including the manipulative High Priest Father Blackwood and the demonic figures who want to use her power for their own ends.
Across four seasons, often released as two-part installments, the show blends witchcraft, demons, and small-town secrets with horror imagery and emotional family drama. Sabrina battles witch hunters, pagan gods, and even rival versions of herself while learning the cost of her choices and the strength of the women who raised her. The series leans into gothic atmosphere and feminist themes, framing Sabrina's journey as a fight to define her own destiny rather than serve anyone else's.
