Character Arc
Senku Ishigami is the brilliant teenage scientist at the heart of Dr. Stone. After awakening roughly 3,700 years following the worldwide petrification, he immediately sets a seemingly impossible goal for himself, to revive all of humanity and rebuild civilization through science. His confidence is matched by genuine intellect, and his trademark declaration that a feat is ten billion percent achievable becomes a signature of the series.
Throughout the early arcs, Senku founds the Kingdom of Science and methodically recreates lost technologies, from gunpowder and antibiotics to electricity and communication devices. He is portrayed as coldly rational on the surface but deeply driven by curiosity and a belief in the cumulative power of human knowledge. His scientific approach is consistently framed as the engine of progress that can unite people rather than divide them.
Senku's central conflict pits his vision of reviving everyone against Tsukasa Shishio's desire to build a new world ruled only by the strong. Rather than relying on physical power, Senku wins allies through invention, persuasion, and ingenuity, gradually expanding his coalition. Over the course of the show he evolves from a lone awakened genius into the unifying leader of a growing movement dedicated to restoring civilization.
