Character Arc
Taiju Oki is Senku's loyal childhood friend and one of the first people he revives in the petrified world. Where Senku embodies intellect, Taiju embodies heart and raw physical strength, possessing seemingly boundless stamina and an unwavering optimism. His simple but sincere outlook makes him a natural counterweight to Senku's calculated thinking.
In the early arcs, Taiju provides the muscle for the fledgling Kingdom of Science, hauling materials and enduring hardships that would break most others. He is motivated in large part by his feelings for Yuzuriha Ogawa, and his determination to protect her and his friends fuels much of his courage. His honesty and dependability quickly establish him as the emotional anchor of Senku's earliest efforts.
As the larger conflict with Tsukasa Shishio develops, Taiju takes on a covert role, working alongside others to gather information rather than fighting openly. Though he is not a strategist like Senku, his loyalty and physical resilience repeatedly prove essential to the mission. His arc emphasizes that brute strength guided by genuine devotion can be just as valuable to rebuilding civilization as scientific genius.
