About Dr. Stone
Dr. Stone is a science-adventure shonen anime produced by TMS Entertainment, adapted from the manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. The story opens when a mysterious flash of light petrifies all of humanity into stone, freezing civilization for thousands of years. When the brilliant teenage scientist Senku Ishigami awakens roughly 3,700 years later, he finds the world reclaimed by nature and resolves to rebuild human society from scratch using the power of science. His rallying cry, that he will revive everyone and restart civilization, sets the entire series in motion.
Senku is soon joined by his loyal and immensely strong friend Taiju Oki and the clever Yuzuriha Ogawa, and together they begin recreating the lost technologies of the modern age. From gunpowder and electricity to medicine and communication, the show treats each invention as a step on a grand scientific ladder, often explaining the real chemistry and engineering behind it. The early arcs balance hopeful discovery with looming danger, as Senku realizes he is not the only person to have awakened from the stone.
Conflict arrives in the form of Tsukasa Shishio, a powerful young fighter who believes the petrification offers a chance to wipe the slate clean and build a world ruled only by the young and strong. Tsukasa wants to destroy the relics of the old world, putting him directly at odds with Senku's mission to revive all of humanity. As the Kingdom of Science grows and clashes with Tsukasa's Empire of Might, Dr. Stone becomes a sprawling tale of knowledge versus force, friendship, and the long climb back to civilization.
