Character Arc
Anton Lundin is among the residents of Are whose lives intersect with the investigation at the centre of The Are Murders. As with much of the show's supporting ensemble, he is part of the close-knit world that Hanna and Daniel must read carefully, a community where ordinary routines and long-standing relationships can hide the answers the detectives are searching for. In a Nordic-noir whodunit, characters like Anton help build the web of connections and motives the season slowly untangles.
Within the tightly woven mystery, his presence contributes to the atmosphere of a resort town where the festive surface and the undercurrents beneath it do not always match. The series keeps its focus on suggestion and character rather than graphic detail, and figures around the case serve to deepen the sense that everyone in Are has a story, a stake, or a secret that the inquiry may eventually touch.
Charlie Gustafsson, well known to Swedish audiences for his leading role in the period drama Var tid ar nu (The Restaurant), brings recognisable craft to the ensemble. His casting reflects the show's deep bench of Swedish talent supporting the central pairing of Carla Sehn and Kardo Razzazi, and reinforces the grounded, naturalistic texture that defines the series.
