About Angel Beats!

Angel Beats! is set in a strange high-school-like afterlife where teenagers who died young arrive carrying the weight of lives that ended too soon. Amnesiac newcomer Yuzuru Otonashi wakes up in this world and is quickly recruited by a band of students who call themselves the Afterlife Battlefront, a group determined to resist what they see as an unfair fate.

The Battlefront, led by the fierce and quick-witted Yuri Nakamura, wages a running campaign against a quiet, white-haired girl they call Angel, the seemingly emotionless student-council president whose role in this world is far more complicated than it first appears. As Otonashi is drawn deeper into their rebellion, he begins to question what the group is really fighting and what it would mean to truly move on.

Beneath its bursts of action and sharp comedy, Angel Beats! is a tender story about grief, regret, and the unfinished business that keeps these young people tethered to the afterlife. Episode by episode it reveals the sorrows each character carried in life, building toward an emotional reckoning about acceptance, friendship, and learning to let go.
