About Burn Notice

When covert operative Michael Westen receives a burn notice in the middle of a job, his career evaporates overnight. Blacklisted, broke, and dumped in Miami with frozen assets and watchful eyes on his every move, he is forced to trade international espionage for small-time hustles. To survive, he reinvents himself as an unlicensed problem-solver, taking on desperate clients the police cannot or will not help.

Each week Michael applies the tradecraft of a spy to street-level trouble, rigging gadgets from household junk, talking his way past thugs, and narrating his methods in dry voiceover. Underneath the case-of-the-week structure runs a longer hunt: who burned him, and why? That obsession drags him through shadowy organizations, double-crosses, and old ghosts, with the rules of his old life constantly colliding with the messy loyalties of his new one.

He is not alone in the fight. Hot-tempered former IRA operative and on-again girlfriend Fiona Glenanne brings the firepower and the heartbreak, while beer-loving ex-Navy SEAL Sam Axe offers muscle, cover stories, and comic relief, with Michael's overbearing chain-smoking mother pulling him back toward family. The series stars Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, and Bruce Campbell.
