About Chainsaw Man

Denji is a teenager drowning in his dead father's debt, scraping by as a freelance devil-hunter with only his chainsaw-devil dog Pochita for company. He sells his organs, eats stale bread, and dreams of nothing grander than a roof, a meal, and maybe a hug. It is a brutally small life, and the show makes you feel every cold, hungry corner of it.

When a betrayal leaves Denji bleeding out, Pochita strikes a bargain and fuses with his heart, reviving him as a hybrid who can yank a cord in his chest and erupt into a roaring, blade-limbed monster. Scouted by the enigmatic Makima, he is folded into the government's Public Safety Devil Hunters, where the paychecks are real and the missions are nightmares. Suddenly the kid who wanted toast is squaring off against horrors that wear human faces.

Animated by MAPPA with feverish, kinetic energy, the series swings from splatter-comedy to genuine heartbreak without losing its footing, anchored by characters you root for even as the world chews them up. The Japanese cast gives it that raw, beating heart, with Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Fairouz Ai as Power, and Tomori Kusunoki as Makima.

It follows Denji, a poor young devil-hunter who fuses with his chainsaw-devil dog Pochita to become a chainsaw-wielding hybrid. Recruited into a government demon-hunting agency, he battles monstrous devils while chasing a deceptively simple dream of a normal, comfortable life. It is gory, funny, and unexpectedly moving.

In the Japanese version, Kikunosuke Toya voices the hybrid protagonist Denji, Fairouz Ai plays the wild Blood Devil Power, and Tomori Kusunoki voices the mysterious agency handler Makima. Their performances give the series much of its emotional punch.
