About Continuum
Continuum is a Canadian science-fiction series created by Simon Barry that follows Kiera Cameron, a City Protective Services officer from a corporate-controlled 2077, who is unexpectedly pulled back to 2012. She is dragged into the past alongside a group of escaping anti-corporate insurgents known as Liber8, who were moments from execution when their time-travel device activated. Stranded sixty-five years before her own time, Kiera must hunt the terrorists while hiding the truth of where, and when, she really comes from.
Posing as a federal officer to gain access to local law enforcement, Kiera partners with Vancouver police detective Carlos Fonnegra and quietly recruits a teenage technology prodigy named Alec Sadler, who she knows will grow up to become the powerful architect of her future world. As Kiera relies on her advanced suit and embedded AI to track Liber8, the line between protecting the timeline and rewriting it grows dangerously thin, forcing her to question whether the future she is fighting to preserve is one worth saving.
Across four seasons the show deepens into a morally complex meditation on corporate dystopia, free will, and the ethics of time travel. Liber8 are framed less as simple villains than as freedom fighters resisting a world ruled by corporations, while Kiera, the loyal enforcer, slowly confronts the cost of the system she once served. Praised for its layered storytelling and willingness to blur the lines between hero and villain, Continuum builds toward a finale that wrestles with alternate timelines and the possibility of a different future.
