About Hotel Elvira
Hotel Elvira is a Greek comedy-drama set on a sun-drenched Cycladic island, where a young woman named Elvira Markellou returns home determined to rescue her late father's struggling hotel. The faded family establishment, weighed down by debt and neglect, becomes the stage for her ambition to transform it into a modern luxury resort. Standing in her way is a powerful local businessman who effectively controls the island's tourism and would happily see the hotel collapse so he can absorb it.
The arrival of a smooth foreign investor named Haris complicates Elvira's plans and her heart in equal measure. Presenting himself as the hotel's potential savior, he plays a double game between Elvira's vision for the future and the interests of the island's entrenched monopoly. Around this central tug of war the series assembles an ensemble of staff, family members and locals, mining the comic chaos of Greek summer tourism, mismatched romances and small-town rivalries.
Created by Michalis Charalampidis and Penny Fylaktaki and directed by Charalampidis, Hotel Elvira premiered on MEGA Channel in October 2025, airing four nights a week. It quickly became one of the season's most-watched Greek original series, and the network has positioned it as an export-friendly, feel-good comedy built on universal themes of family, ambition and reinvention against a postcard-perfect island backdrop.
