About Madre solo hay dos
Madre solo hay dos (released internationally as Daughter From Another Mother) is a Mexican comedy-drama created by Carolina Rivera for Netflix. Two women who could not be more different, the free-spirited and impulsive Ana and the buttoned-up first-time mother Mariana, give birth on the same night at the same hospital, where a mix-up sends each of them home with the wrong newborn daughter. When the truth comes to light a year later, the two are thrown into each other's lives whether they like it or not.
Rather than fight a custody battle that would tear two babies in half, Ana and Mariana make an unconventional choice: they move in together and raise both girls as one extended, blended family. What follows is a warm and frequently funny portrait of an unlikely household, where opposite parenting styles, in-laws, ex-partners, and Mariana's exuberant younger sister Valentina all collide under one roof. The comedy comes from the friction of two clashing temperaments learning to share a kitchen, a calendar, and the title of mom.
Across two seasons the series leans into modern, good-natured family comedy, finding its heart in the deepening friendship between the two mothers and the chaotic, affectionate clan they build together. With Ludwika Paleta and Paulina Goto anchoring the leads, the show balances laugh-out-loud domestic mishaps with genuinely tender beats about motherhood, found family, and the idea that love, not biology, is what makes a household whole.
