About Mr. Ironclad
Mr. Ironclad is a 2025 South Korean black-comedy drama that aired on tvN, internationally distributed under this English title and known in Korea as Shin's Project (Shinsajang Project). Directed by Shin Kyung-soo and written by Ban Ki-ri, the series follows Mr. Shin, an unassuming fried chicken shop owner who is secretly a former top-class negotiator. With an almost unshakable, ironclad calm, he steps in at exactly the right moment to defuse fights, settle disputes, and resolve conflicts that look impossible to win.
The story expands when a rookie judge, Jo Philip, is mysteriously reassigned to work at the chicken shop, and an energetic delivery rider, Lee Si-on, joins the makeshift crew. Together this unlikely trio begins chasing the truth behind the cases that land on their doorstep, mixing courtroom-adjacent intrigue with the warm, family-like chaos of a neighborhood restaurant. Each negotiation peels back a little more of Mr. Shin's hidden past and the reasons he traded a high-stakes career for a fryer and a delivery scooter.
Anchored by veteran actor Han Suk-kyu and co-starring Bae Hyun-sung and Lee Re, Mr. Ironclad balances comedy, mystery, and quiet social commentary across its twelve episodes. The Korean title puns on Mr. Shin's name and the idea of an iron-willed boss, and the series leans on that tension between an ordinary exterior and an extraordinary skill set, treating mediation and justice as something that can be won with patience, insight, and nerve rather than force.
