About Spare Me Your Mercy
Spare Me Your Mercy (Thai title Karunyakhat, also known as Mae Mai Plai Chak) is a 2024 Thai mystery drama that premiered on the One 31 channel and streamed internationally on iQIYI. Adapted from a novel by Sammon, the eight-episode series pairs a respected hospice physician with a methodical police investigator and uses their relationship to probe one of medicine's hardest ethical questions: when, if ever, mercy crosses into wrongdoing.
Dr. Kantaphat, known to colleagues as Kan and played by Thanapob Leeratanakachorn, is a palliative-care doctor admired for his compassion toward terminally ill patients. When a string of deaths among hospice patients draws scrutiny, Police Captain Wasan, nicknamed Tew and played by Krissanapoom Pibulsonggram, is assigned to investigate. The case grows personal and painful as the evidence points toward someone Tew has come to care about, forcing him to weigh duty against feeling.
Working alongside them is Dr. Rin, a sharp hospital coroner played by Atchareeya Potipipittanakorn, whose careful reading of the forensic details keeps the inquiry honest. Rather than sensationalize, the series stays focused on the medical mystery and the moral debate around end-of-life care, letting quiet conversations and difficult choices drive the tension toward its resolution.
