About Spring of Youth
Spring of Youth is a 2025 South Korean youth romance that follows Sa-gye, the bright and impossibly positive vocalist and guitarist of the chart-topping K-pop band The Crown. When his idol career is upended overnight and he is pushed off the stage he loves, Sa-gye is forced to trade arenas for lecture halls and enroll as a freshman at Hanju University. Out of his element and stripped of the fame that once defined him, he stumbles into the campus band club and discovers that the music he thought he had lost is still very much alive in him.
At university Sa-gye crosses paths with Kim Bom, a grounded and determined student whose steady warmth slowly draws him out of his own spotlight, and with Seo Tae-yang, the composed and charismatic guitarist who leads the band club and carries the weight of a family that expected him to become a doctor rather than a musician. Together with the rest of the four-member co-ed band, they rehearse in cramped practice rooms, chase a sound of their own, and learn that the friends who play beside you can matter as much as any crowd. First love, gentle rivalry, and the pull of family expectations all play out against the rhythm of the band finding its footing.
Across its run the series keeps its tone wholesome and hopeful, treating the ups and downs of campus life, the nerves of a first performance, and the tender beginnings of romance with a light and sincere touch. Rather than reaching for melodrama, Spring of Youth leans into the small triumphs of dreaming out loud, the comfort of belonging to a group of friends, and the courage it takes to start over. It is a warm coming-of-age story about music, friendship, and the season of life when everything still feels possible.
