About Love in Contract
Love in Contract is a South Korean romantic comedy drama that aired on tvN in 2022, written by Ha Goo-dam and directed by Nam Ki-hoon. It follows Choi Sang-eun, a uniquely skilled professional known as a single-life concierge, a contract wife who is hired to pose as the perfect partner for clients who need a spouse for social appearances. She juggles five carefully scheduled husbands across the week, slipping in and out of marriages without ever letting real feelings enter the arrangement.
Her tidy, rule-bound world begins to wobble when two men pull at the boundaries she has spent years protecting. Jung Ji-ho is a reserved, meticulous judge and her most loyal long-term client, a man whose quiet routine hides old wounds, while Kang Hae-jin is a famous, charismatic actor who unexpectedly enters her roster and refuses to treat their bond as merely transactional. As both men grow attached, Sang-eun is forced to confront the difference between a role she performs and a love she might actually want.
Blending warm comedy with a tender slow-burn romance, the series uses its unusual premise to explore loneliness, the social pressure to marry, and the courage it takes to choose genuine intimacy over a safe contract. Over sixteen episodes it moves from playful arrangement toward heartfelt commitment, asking whether someone who has only ever rented her presence can finally give her heart away for real.
