About Sweet Home
Cha Hyun-su is a withdrawn teenager nursing fresh grief when he moves into the dilapidated Green Home apartment complex, hoping to disappear from the world. Instead, an apocalyptic plague erupts: ordinary people across the country begin warping into grotesque monsters that physically manifest their most consuming desires. Trapped behind sealed doors with strangers, Hyun-su discovers he is something rarer and stranger than the rest.
As the building becomes a fortress under siege, its mismatched residents form an uneasy alliance to ration food, barricade the lobby, and decide who among them can still be trusted to stay human. A gangster with a hidden agenda, a battle-hardened former firefighter, a sardonic guitarist, and a cluster of frightened children all orbit the central mystery of why some people turn and others resist. Every monster wears the face of who its host used to be, making each kill an act of mourning.
Across three seasons the story widens from one claustrophobic tower into a fractured nation grappling with quarantine, militarized survivors, and the blurred line between monster and so-called special infectee. The human drama stays brutal and intimate even as the creature design grows operatic. Anchoring it all is Song Kang as Cha Hyun-su, whose quiet anguish becomes the emotional spine of the entire saga.
