About The Glass Dome
The Glass Dome (Swedish: Glaskupan) is a six-part Swedish Nordic-noir thriller that premiered on Netflix on 15 April 2025. Created by bestselling crime novelist Camilla Lackberg in her first original work written directly for the screen, and directed by Lisa Farzaneh and Henrik Bjorn, the limited series unfolds in a remote, snowbound town in northern Sweden. It follows Lejla Ness, an accomplished criminologist and behavioural scientist who returns to her hometown for a family funeral and finds the quiet community she left behind shadowed by an unsettling new case.
The story is built around two echoing mysteries. As a young girl, Lejla was abducted and held captive in the same town before being rescued and adopted by the local police chief, a trauma she has spent her adult life studying from a professional distance. When a child goes missing under circumstances that rhyme uncomfortably with her own past, Lejla is drawn back into a world she thought she had escaped, and her clinical expertise collides with buried personal memory as she tries to help the investigation.
True to the Scandinavian crime tradition, the series favours atmosphere, psychological tension and slow-building dread over spectacle. It frames its central abduction as a psychological mystery rather than a sensational one, leaning on the bleak winter landscape, small-town secrets and the strained loyalties of the Ness family. Anchored by Leonie Vincent's lead performance, The Glass Dome arrived as one of Netflix's prominent Swedish-language thrillers and a contemporary companion to titles such as The Bridge and The Chestnut Man.
