About The Secret Circle

The Secret Circle follows sixteen-year-old Cassie Blake, who moves to the small coastal town of Chance Harbor, Washington, to live with her grandmother after her mother dies in a mysterious fire. Settling into a new school and a new life, Cassie soon learns that her arrival is no accident. She descends from a long line of witches, and five other teenagers in town share the same secret bloodlines. Together the six of them form a circle, a bond that magnifies their individual powers and ties their fates together whether they like it or not.

As Cassie is drawn into the world of magic, she discovers that the circle has been incomplete and dormant until she joined it. With her presence, the witches can finally access the full force of their abilities, but that power attracts danger. The teens must learn to control their magic while uncovering the truth about their parents, a previous generation of witches whose own circle ended in tragedy. Romance, rivalry, and family secrets complicate the group as they bind their circle and confront forces that want their power for darker ends.

Blending teen romance with witchcraft and small-town mystery, the series explores themes of identity, destiny, and the consequences of forbidden magic. Cassie's growing feelings for Adam Conant, the simmering ambition of Faye Chamberlain, and the looming threat of the witch hunters and adults manipulating the circle from the shadows drive a single, tightly plotted season. Produced for The CW and based on L.J. Smith's novel trilogy, The Secret Circle aired during the height of the network's supernatural era alongside The Vampire Diaries.
