About Our Unwritten Seoul
Our Unwritten Seoul (Korean title Seoului Bom, literally Spring of Seoul) is a 2025 South Korean healing melodrama that follows identical twin sisters with opposite temperaments. Yu Mi-ji, a former promising sprinter sidelined by injury, lives a free-spirited and unhurried life in the rural hometown of Duson-ri, caring for the family while drifting without a clear plan for the future. Her twin Yu Mi-rae is a diligent perfectionist who has built a hard-won career at a public corporation in Seoul but carries the quiet exhaustion of constant striving. Both roles are played by Park Bo-young in a celebrated dual performance.
When the weight of each sister's life becomes too much to bear alone, the twins quietly agree to swap places. Mi-ji takes on Mi-rae's demanding job and the pressures of the city, while Mi-rae retreats to the slower rhythms of the countryside. As each woman steps into the life her sister led, she comes to understand the burdens, compromises, and small joys she once envied from a distance, and the secret swap gradually reshapes how they see themselves and each other.
Tender and contemplative, the drama explores identity, family, and second chances rather than high-stakes plot turns. Alongside the sisters, lawyer Lee Ho-su, who shares a long and complicated history with the family, becomes entwined in their choices. The series aired on tvN as a weekend drama from May 24 to June 29, 2025, and streamed internationally on Netflix, earning particular praise for Park Bo-young's distinction between the two sisters through subtle differences in voice, posture, and manner.
