About Wind Breaker
Wind Breaker follows Haruka Sakura, a sharp-tongued loner who transfers into Furin High School expecting to claw his way to the top of a brutal pecking order. Furin has a fearsome reputation as a school packed with brawlers, and Sakura, who has been treated as an outcast his whole life because of his unusual two-toned eyes, assumes everyone there will be just another obstacle to fight through. What he discovers instead upends everything he believed about strength and belonging.
Furin's students are not common thugs. Under the banner of the Bofurin organization, they act as the unofficial protectors of the town of Makochi, defending its shops and residents from outside trouble and earning the genuine gratitude of the locals. Led by the magnetic Hajime Umemiya, the group fights to keep the streets safe rather than to dominate them. Sakura, used to going it alone, is slowly drawn into this strange family of fighters who measure power by who they choose to protect.
Adapted by CloverWorks from Satoru Nii's hit Kodansha manga, the series pairs explosive, well-choreographed fight scenes with a warm coming-of-age story about loyalty, community, and learning to trust others. As Sakura forms bonds with classmates like the earnest Akihiko Nirei and clashes with rival gangs threatening Makochi, he begins to understand that the toughest thing he can do is let people stand beside him.
