About Wisting
Wisting is a Norwegian Nordic-noir crime drama adapted from Jorn Lier Horst's bestselling Cold Case Quartet novels, with the author drawing on his own years of experience as a police investigator. The series is set in and around the coastal town of Larvik, where veteran detective William Wisting, played by Sven Nordin, is a measured and methodical investigator who carries the weight of every case he works. The bleak, wind-swept Norwegian landscape becomes a character in its own right, framing the quiet persistence of a man who believes in patient, careful police work.
When an inquiry in rural Norway draws the attention of an American FBI team hunting a long-sought offender, Wisting finds his deliberate methods tested by visiting Special Agent Maggie Griffin, played by Carrie-Anne Moss in the first season. Their uneasy partnership pairs Norwegian restraint with American intensity, forcing both to reconsider how they read evidence, witnesses, and one another across a wide cultural divide.
Running parallel to her father's work is Line Wisting, played by Thea Green Lundberg, a determined crime journalist who chases her own thread of the unfolding story. The father-daughter relationship sits at the heart of the show, as the two pursue overlapping truths from different sides of the same investigation, their loyalties and instincts repeatedly pulling them together and apart against the cold beauty of the Norwegian coast.
