Character Arc
Edward Sonoko is the third of the Sonoko brothers featured in Reckless. The series presents the three siblings as a unit whose loyalty is tested by the events of a single catastrophic night, and Edward's role within that trio is central to how the family holds together. His personality rounds out the contrast among the brothers as they confront a crisis none of them is prepared for.
After the illegal street race that changes everything, Edward joins his brothers and their family in leaving the city for a remote village. Cut off from the privileges he has always known, he must adapt to a harsher reality and help shoulder the burden of keeping the family safe and unified. His arc weighs the pull of self-preservation against the duty he feels toward his brothers.
Through the first season, Edward's story leans into the show's core concerns of accountability and redemption. The series tracks how he comes to terms with what happened and what it means to start over, and his relationship with Pete and Mika remains the steady center of his journey as the Sonokos try to reclaim their footing.
