Character Arc
Mika Sonoko is the second of the three Sonoko brothers in Reckless. Like his siblings, he grows up shielded by the family's wealth, and the series uses the brothers' contrasting personalities to explore how each one responds when that shelter falls away. Mika is bound tightly to Pete and Edward, and the bond among the three is what the story repeatedly puts under pressure.
When the family leaves the city after the street-race tragedy, Mika has to navigate a new and unforgiving setting alongside his brothers. His arc examines how a young man raised with everything copes with sudden loss of status, secrecy, and fear of being found out. The village forces him to grow up quickly and to weigh loyalty to family against the temptation to look out only for himself.
Over the first season, Mika's journey is shaped by the same themes that drive the show: guilt, brotherhood, and the slow, uncertain path toward redemption. His choices ripple through the family, and the series keeps returning to the question of whether the Sonokos can rebuild trust both among themselves and within the community that surrounds them.
