About Glass Heart
Glass Heart is a 2025 Japanese live-action music drama that premiered on Netflix on July 31, 2025. Adapted from Mio Wakagi's beloved novel and directed by Kohtaro Goto, the ten-episode series follows Akane Saijo, a gifted college-age drummer whose dream looks finished when she is abruptly pushed out of her band just before their long-awaited debut. Heartbroken but unwilling to quit, she is given a second chance from the most unlikely source.
That chance comes from Naoki Fujitani, a reclusive and demanding musical genius who notices Akane's raw talent and invites her to join the band he is assembling, TENBLANK. Alongside guitarist Sho Takaoka and pianist Kazushi Sakamoto, Akane has to prove she belongs in a group built around Fujitani's exacting, uncompromising vision of what music should be. As TENBLANK begins its climb, the series leans into the warmth and electricity of people chasing a sound that matters.
Starring Takeru Satoh as Fujitani and featuring Masaki Suda as a rival vocalist, Glass Heart balances soaring live performances with intimate character drama, exploring ambition, found family, and the cost of artistry. The result is an uplifting, emotionally rich story about a young musician learning that the dream is not just about being chosen, but about earning her place and finding her own voice behind the kit.
