About High Seas

High Seas (Spanish: Alta Mar) is a glossy Spanish period mystery set aboard the luxury ocean liner Barbara de Braganza as it sails from Spain to Brazil in the late 1940s. Following the death of their father, sisters Eva and Carolina Villanueva board the ship, with Carolina traveling to marry the wealthy Fernando Fabregas. What begins as a celebratory voyage quickly turns sinister when a young woman vanishes and a series of suspicious deaths ripple through the passengers and crew.

Aspiring writer Eva refuses to accept the official explanations and begins investigating, often aided by ship officer Nicolas Vazquez. As the liner crosses the Atlantic, the sisters uncover stowaways, blackmail, forged identities, and buried family secrets that connect their own past to the danger surrounding them. Every cabin and corridor hides a possible suspect in a closed-setting whodunit.

From the creators of Grand Hotel and Velvet, the series blends Agatha-Christie-style intrigue with lavish period costumes, romance, and high-stakes melodrama. Across three seasons and twenty-two episodes, the mysteries deepen with espionage, wartime fugitives, and shifting alliances, keeping the Villanueva sisters at the heart of a voyage where almost no one is who they claim to be.
