About Last Twilight
Last Twilight is a Thai romantic drama produced by GMMTV that aired on GMM 25 and YouTube from November 2023 to January 2024. Directed by Noppharnach Chaiyahwimhon, the twelve-episode series follows Mhok, a hot-tempered young man burdened by debt and a spotty work history, who reluctantly takes a well-paying job as a live-in caregiver for Day, a once-promising badminton player who is gradually losing his eyesight. Where every other applicant offered pity, Mhok offers blunt honesty, and that refusal to treat Day as fragile becomes the foundation of an unexpected bond.
Day was a rising athlete before an infection damaged his vision, and he has retreated into frustration and isolation, pushing away the people who try to help. When doctors tell him he has roughly 180 days before his remaining sight fades, the series turns toward how the two young men face that countdown together. Mhok learns to describe the world Day can no longer see clearly, while Day slowly lets go of the resentment that had become his armor. Their relationship is portrayed with tenderness and restraint rather than melodrama.
The show drew praise for handling progressive vision loss with care and dignity, avoiding exploitation while still acknowledging grief, fear, and adjustment. Day's older brother Night and the household around him round out a story that is as much about family, independence, and self-worth as it is about romance. Strong lead chemistry between Jimmy Jitaraphol and Sea Tawinan, who had previously starred together in Vice Versa, helped Last Twilight become one of GMMTV's most discussed releases of its season and a favorite among international fans of Thai drama.
