About Lost Girl
Lost Girl is a Canadian urban-fantasy series that follows Bo, a young woman who discovers she is one of the Fae, an ancient race of supernatural beings who live secretly among humans. Bo draws life energy from those around her, a trait that left a trail of unexplained tragedy in her past until she finally learns what she truly is. Rather than pledge herself to one of the two rival Fae clans, the Light and the Dark, Bo chooses to walk her own path and live by her own code.
Settling in an unnamed city, Bo sets up shop as a paranormal private investigator, taking cases that bridge the human and Fae worlds. At her side is Kenzi, a quick-witted human con artist who becomes her closest friend, roommate and chosen family. Together they unravel mysteries involving shapeshifters, sirens, succubi, valkyries and other creatures of legend, often colliding with the rigid politics that govern Fae society.
Across five seasons the story widens from monster-of-the-week detective cases into a sweeping mythology about Bo's hidden parentage, prophecy and the balance of power among the Fae. Romance, loyalty and the bonds of found family sit at the heart of the show, as Bo navigates her feelings for the brooding shapeshifter Dyson, the compassionate human doctor Lauren and the friends who stand with her against forces that would use her power for their own ends.
