About Wynonna Earp
Wynonna Earp is a Syfy supernatural-western drama that premiered in 2016, developed by Emily Andras and based on the comic book series created by Beau Smith. The show follows Wynonna Earp, the great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, who returns to her hometown of Purgatory on the eve of her twenty-seventh birthday. On that birthday she inherits a deadly family curse along with Wyatt's enchanted gun, Peacemaker.
The Earp curse resurrects every outlaw Wyatt killed in his lifetime, turning them into demonic creatures called Revenants who are bound to the town and bent on destroying the Earp heir. Only the rightful heir wielding Peacemaker can send these Revenants back to hell for good. Reluctantly stepping into the role, Wynonna teams up with her younger sister Waverly, a resurrected and now-immortal Doc Holliday, and agents of a secret government division to hunt the demons and break the curse once and for all.
Blending gunslinging action, horror, sharp humor, and heartfelt relationships, the series became a cult favorite praised for its strong female leads and inclusive storytelling. The romance between Waverly and Officer Nicole Haught, nicknamed WayHaught by fans, earned the show a devoted following. Over four seasons the Earp sisters confront witches, demons, and a centuries-old reckoning while fighting to protect their family and free themselves from the curse.
