About Noragami

Noragami follows Yato, a minor stray god who has no shrine, no worshippers, and barely enough faith to keep himself going. To earn a living and build the following he dreams of, he scrawls his phone number on walls and takes on any odd job for a fee of just five yen. Yato is convinced that one day he will be a famous deity with a grand shrine of his own, but for now he is a scruffy, jersey-wearing god doing chores for spare change.

Everything shifts when a high school girl named Hiyori Iki pushes Yato out of the path of a bus to save him. The accident loosens her soul from her body, leaving her a half-phantom who can slip into the spirit world and faint into a sleeping state at random. Determined to be made whole again, Hiyori sticks close to Yato and is drawn into a hidden world of gods, spirits, and the corrupted phantoms that threaten humans.

Yato eventually takes on a new Regalia, a wayward spirit he names Yukine, who becomes his weapon and partner. The series balances comedy and warmth with darker themes of death, neglect, and the bonds between gods and their Regalia. As Yato confronts his murky past and the consequences of his old life, the trio grows into a found family while battling threats that test their loyalty to one another.
