About Suicide Squad Isekai
Suicide Squad Isekai is a Japanese anime that reimagines DC Comics' Task Force X through the lens of the isekai genre. Produced by Warner Bros. Japan and animated by Wit Studio, the ten-episode series premiered internationally in mid-2024. It opens in Gotham City, where intelligence chief Amanda Waller captures a group of the city's most dangerous criminals and gives them an impossible choice: take on a deadly assignment or be eliminated.
After implanting them with explosive collars to keep them in line, Waller sends Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark through a mysterious portal into another world. This new realm is a sword-and-sorcery kingdom of magic, monsters, knights, and warring factions, a setting utterly unlike the streets of Gotham the squad knows. Their mission is to survive the strange land and complete Waller's objective if they ever hope to return home.
Anchored by Harley Quinn's chaotic energy and the squad's constant infighting, the show plays its grim premise with dark humor and stylish action set pieces. As the team clashes with the kingdom's rulers and uncovers the secrets of the world they have been thrown into, old rivalries resurface and unlikely alliances form. The result is a high-octane blend of superhero spectacle and fantasy adventure built for fans of both DC villains and isekai storytelling.
