About Tasokare Hotel
Tasokare Hotel is a 2025 Japanese mystery anime set in a strange inn that exists in the twilight space between the living world and the afterlife. A teenage girl named Neko Tsukahara wakes inside the hotel with no memory of who she is or how she arrived, and she is shown to a room filled with objects connected to a past she cannot recall. Rather than leaving, she takes up work at the front desk under the watchful Hotel Manager, slowly learning the quiet rules of a place built for souls in transition.
Each guest who checks in is a person who has died, lingering at the hotel until they can recover the lost memory that anchors them. Neko, the bright bellhop Haruto Atori, and the composed concierge Masaki Osoto help these visitors piece together the moments that defined their lives, so that each can decide whether to move on peacefully to the afterlife or, in rare cases, return to the world of the living. The work is gentle but quietly emotional, with every case functioning as a small, self-contained mystery of identity and regret.
Adapted from the popular 2017 mobile mystery game and produced by studio PRA, the series ran for twelve episodes from January to March 2025. Its restrained, melancholy tone blends detective-style puzzle-solving with warm slice-of-life rhythms, as Neko's own buried history threads through the guests' stories. The result is a contemplative supernatural drama about loss, closure, and the small truths that let people finally rest.
