About Acro Trip

Acro Trip is a gentle comedy with a magical-girl twist that flips the usual hero-and-villain dynamic on its head. The story follows Chizuko Date, an ordinary high schooler who has spent years cheering on her town's resident magical girl, Berry Blossom. But Chizuko's heart does not actually belong to the heroine. Instead, she is hopelessly devoted to the show's would-be villain, a tiny, perpetually unlucky member of the evil organization who keeps failing at her wicked schemes.

Determined to see her favorite character shine, Chizuko appoints herself the villain's number-one supporter and personal cheerleader. She throws herself into helping the diminutive baddie pull off a proper evil plot, offering encouragement, logistical help, and an endless supply of enthusiasm. The result is a warm, low-stakes comedy in which the lines between good and evil blur into something closer to friendship, as a fan and her idol stumble through one harmless caper after another.

Animated by the studio Voil and based on the manga by Yone Sawata that ran in Shueisha's Ribon magazine, Acro Trip leans into a bright, easygoing tone. Rather than world-ending battles, it finds its humor in small-town misadventures, oddball side characters, and the sincere bond between an overzealous fan and the villain she adores. The twelve-episode series offers a cozy, character-driven spin on the magical-girl genre.
