About Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister
Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister, known in Japan as Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi, centers on Uryu Kamihate, a diligent and serious-minded high school student who has spent his life striving to test into the prestigious University of Tokyo. After the grandfather who raised him passes away, Uryu is left without a guardian or a home, until the family that runs the local Amagami Shrine takes him in. There he must adjust to living under the same roof as the three Amagami sisters, each warm and welcoming in her own distinct way.
The shrine carries an old tradition, and the sisters have grown up understanding that their future husband may well come from within the household. Uryu, who has always kept his head down and his focus on study, suddenly finds himself the center of gentle attention from Yae, the steady and nurturing eldest sister; Yuwa, the lively and outgoing middle sister and his classmate; and the youngest, who looks up to him with sincere admiration. The story treats this premise with a light, good-natured touch rather than melodrama.
Adapted by studio Bushiroad Move and Studio Comet, the series leans into the rhythms of everyday life at a country shrine, blending warm family comedy with a tender, slow-building romance. Uryu slowly learns that a home is not only a place to study but a place to belong, and the Amagami household helps him open up after years of solitude. The result is a soft, restrained coming-of-age tale about found family, first feelings, and the quiet comfort of being cared for.
