About Be Happy
Be Happy is a 2025 Hindi-language family drama that premiered on Prime Video, directed by acclaimed choreographer Remo D'Souza. The film follows Dhara, a gifted young dancer whose biggest dream is to perform on a prestigious national dance reality show, and her devoted single father, Dhruv, who quietly reorganizes his entire life around making that dream possible. What begins as a warm, lighthearted story about a small-town family chasing a big stage gradually deepens into a tender meditation on parenthood, sacrifice, and the things we are willing to give up for the people we love.
At the heart of the film is the bond between father and daughter. Dhruv is a loving, slightly anxious dad who measures his own worth by how well he can protect and provide for Dhara, while Dhara is bright, determined, and far more perceptive about her father's struggles than he realizes. Their relationship is tested when illness enters the family, forcing both of them to confront fear, uncertainty, and the question of how to keep dancing toward joy even when life turns heavy. The film handles this turn with care, leaning on hope, resilience, and the steadying presence of family rather than melodrama.
Anchored by Abhishek Bachchan as Dhruv and child performer Inayat Verma as Dhara, with Nora Fatehi featured in the dance world that frames Dhara's ambitions, Be Happy blends polished musical sequences with an emotional, tearjerker core. Remo D'Souza brings his signature choreography sensibility to the dance set pieces while keeping the focus on the small, intimate moments between a parent and child. The result is a heartfelt crowd-pleaser about dreams, second chances, and choosing happiness as an act of love.
