About Finding Ola
Finding Ola (Ayza Ola) is a warm Egyptian comedy-drama that picks up with Ola Abdel Sabour, a middle-class Cairo woman in her forties whose comfortable life is upended when her husband Hesham asks for a divorce. Devastated and a little lost, Ola suddenly has to figure out who she is beyond the roles of wife and mother that have defined her for two decades. With two children to raise and a household to keep running, she sets out to rebuild her life from the ground up and to rediscover the dreams she quietly set aside along the way.
Across six breezy episodes, the series follows Ola as she leans on her career, reconnects with old ambitions, fends off her traditional mother Soheir's constant pressure to win Hesham back, and cautiously opens herself to the possibility of new love. The tone stays light and generous even when the subject matter, divorce, reinvention, and the expectations placed on Arab women, runs deep. Hend Sabry anchors it all with a performance that is funny, frazzled, and quietly determined.
A reunion of sorts with the character Sabry first played in the hit series Ayza Atgawez (I Want to Get Married), Finding Ola became one of Netflix's most-watched Arabic Originals when it premiered in February 2022. It frames midlife not as an ending but as a fresh start, telling a relatable story about starting over with humor, heart, and a strong sense of family.
