About Killjoys
Killjoys is a fast-paced space-opera that follows a trio of hard-living interplanetary bounty hunters who work as neutral Reclamation Agents, or RAC agents, in a far-flung planetary system called the Quad. Sworn to stay out of politics and take no side in any dispute, the team chases warrants across four worlds orbiting a single sun, hauling in fugitives, recovering property and settling debts for the all-powerful RAC. At the centre of the crew is Dutch, a deadly and mysterious woman with a buried past, alongside the brothers John and D'avin Jaqobis and their snarky, sentient ship Lucy.
What begins as a breezy bounty-of-the-week adventure quickly deepens into something darker. The Quad is a powder keg of class warfare between the privileged residents of the planet Qresh and the exploited workers of the moons Westerley and Leith, all of it controlled by the shadowy corporate cabal known as the Company. As Dutch and the Jaqobis brothers take warrants, they keep stumbling into a larger sinister conspiracy tied to Dutch's childhood, a brutal mentor called Khlyen and an ancient threat that could doom every world in the system.
Across five seasons the show balances wisecracking banter, slick action and genuine emotional stakes, building a found-family at its core. The crew faces a green plasma plague, a hostile parasitic species known as the Hullen, a planet-wide rebellion and a war for the very soul of the Quad. Praised for its diverse cast, breakneck pace and a fierce female lead, Killjoys carved out a loyal fanbase as one of Syfy's signature summer genre series before wrapping up its story on its own terms in 2019.
