About Zorro
Zorro is a 2024 Spanish-language reimagining of the masked-hero legend, produced for RTVE and streaming worldwide on Prime Video. Set in a sun-bleached 19th-century California, it follows Diego de la Vega, who returns home from years abroad to find his father dead and the territory squeezed by corruption and greed. As Diego digs into the killing, he inherits a destiny he never asked for and takes up the black mask, sword and whip of Zorro, the outlaw protector who answers to no governor.
The series leans into the double life at the heart of the myth. By day Diego plays the idle, charming aristocrat, hiding his intentions from friends and enemies alike. By night he becomes the fox, defending the dispossessed and chasing the truth behind his father's death. His path crosses again with Lolita Marquez, the childhood love who has grown into a sharp, capable woman with her own convictions, and with Nah-Lin, an Indigenous fighter who believes the mantle of the next champion should be hers, not his.
Stylish and swashbuckling, this Zorro frames the legend as a clean action-adventure with a strong romantic pulse and a more diverse, modern point of view than earlier screen versions. With horseback chases, rooftop duels and a hero torn between two identities, the ten-episode run balances spectacle with the cost of living behind a mask, asking what a man owes to his name, his community and the woman he loves.
